I’m the victim in the story, my name is Arie, and I do want to thank MSMInvestments for posting the blog here.

There’s nothing much to add because all the details are here! I just hope people wold becareful and don’t mess up with e-gold because your funds are never safe with them!

Also, just to add, as the admin of the website I will do whatever it takes to pay our users and our website won’t turn into scam like e-gold!

People, stay away from them!!! They will take your funds away from you like a wind!!

I’m not going to argue as I myself have been involved with HYIPs since 4 years back.

With the current situation that E-gold is facing, they will definitely be hard on online investment scams like HYIPs and (might even) take the chance to confiscate whatever remaining you have with them should you be suspected of running one.

That being said, it’s not really safe for anyone to be involve with HYIP/ Surfs anymore. The best is to get out of them.

To each its own, thanks for sharing :)

Friend, I’ve went through the same ordeal. I too wrote a blog posting about it, and it was quite a silly mess. My account was in no way related to anything in the HYIP arena, so I’m not sure what caused them to block my account. When I called them the lady on the phone explained that the accounts are blocked by some automated script on their servers so “accidental blocks” can happen. What I suggest people do if this is the case and your account is not related to hyips or anything shady like that is call them up and they will mail you a “verification code” (snail mail…NOT e-mail) and you’d log in and enter that verification code and then your account will be unblocked - simple, but time consuming process, especially if you need access to your money right away.

In the end I don’t blame e-gold for blocking accounts. They’re kinda of desperate to repair their tarnished image as the “scammer’s payment processor”. I mean the only reason it grew so big so fast was because for the underground internet “economy” and other shady online “ventures” it was the perfect system. I hope they become more mainstream. I’d like to see e-gold being used by banks or investment businesses and whatnot.
